Navigation over Great Barrier Island...

Ayant un peu de temps pour retoucher des photos, j'ai pas mal de photos prisent lors de différente nav à partager avec vous..
Bon la qualité n'est pas toujours au top, mais je fais de mon mieux.
I've got some free time to edit my photos, I've got quite a lot of photos to share with you, all taken during my navigations.
Quality is not at its best, but i tried to do my best! 

Nous sommes le 9 décembre 2013, dans le cadre de ma formation, j'ai plusieurs navigation solo à faire, en vue de me présenter au CPL. Ce jour là j'ai choisis d'aller voir "Great Barrier Island", île qui se situe au nord est de la Nouvelle Zélande.
Qui dit nav VFR, dis plusieurs point de report VFR, d'où l'étrange forme de ma nav, pour île qui se situe bien au nord de mon terrain de départ.
Lets get back to the 09th of December, during the course, you've got to do several solo navigation, to have enough hours to do your CPL. That day, I've decided to go to Great Barrier Island, which is situated in the north east from Hamilton.

Voilà donc la nav du jour :
Départ vers l'est, direct sur Tauranga, un touch and go, puis direction le nord, en passant par Waihi Beach, Pauanui, Rauporoa Bay, Aiguilles Island (au nord de Great Barrier Island), puis vers le sud via Kaiarara Bay, Port Jackson, Thames, Morrinsville et enfin  Hamilton (mon point de départ).
So there is the nav of the day :
Departure to the East, on track to Tauranga, one touch and go over there, then track to the north, along the coastline via Waihi Beach, Pauanui, Rauporoa Bay, Aiguilles Island (north of Great Barrier Island), then track to the south via Kaiarara Bay, Port Jackson, Thames, Morrinsville and finally my departure point Hamilton.

Soit pas loin de 265nm, qui m'a pris environ 2h40 de vol.

Je n'ai pas pu TOUT prendre en photo, et le contre jour ne m'a pas fortement aidé, et j'avais surtout à piloter l'avion quand même..
I obviously couldn't take photos of the whole flight, as I was most of the time in backlit conditions, and I still had to fly the airplane.. 

Juste après Tauranga, en remontant la côte vers Waihi Beach, c'est la Bay Of Plenty, avec Mayor Island au fond...

Après la ville de Waihi Beach, une autre ville en bord de mer et entouré de montagne, Whangamata, prononcé ici "Fangamata"...

3 petites îles, de haut en bas, Slipper Island, Penguin Island & Rabbit Island...3 small islands, from the top it's Slipper Island, Penguin Island & Rabbit Island...

Puis la ville de Whitianga (Prononcé "Fitianga", vous l'aurez compris, en maori, WH = F).

Puis viens la traversée, il n'y a certes que quelques km, mais pour des raisons de sécurité, suivant les conseils de mon instructeur, je suis monté à 7500ft. Il faut savoir en plus que cette Great Barrier Island, ne comporte que très peu de partie plate, donc en cas de panne moteur, l’atterrissage forcé peu vite être délicat...
Then I arrived over the sea to go to that famous Island. Only few kilometers separate Great Barrier Island from the main one, but for safety reasons, following the advices of my flight instructors, I've climbed to 7500ft. Safety not only for the water, but because that small Island is full of small mountains, so in case of an engine failure, you've got only few aereas where you can possibly do a force landing...

J'arrive donc au dessus de cette fameuse île, vue sur Korotiti Bay et au fond Rakitu Island...Welcome over Great Barrier Island, view on Korotiti Bay, and Rakitu Island...

A 7500ft, première fois que j'utilisais le chauffage du DA20, température a du descendre à 7/8°C... L'air était vraiment "lisse", pas de turbulence rien... Ça change des passages au dessus des montagnes...
At 7500ft, it was the first time I've used the cabin heat, as the Temperature went down to 7 or 8°C. The air was so smooth, no bump compare to all my flight over the mountains here in New Zealand.

Descente à 6500ft, pour être en niveau paire, lorsque l'on a un cap au sud... Retour sur le "Continent", avec Port Jackson...
Descent to 6500ft, as when you fly with a south heading, you've got to be with an Even altitude. Back to the "Continent" then, with Port Jackson in the foreground...

Coromandel Forsest Park juste en dessous, qui compte de nombreuses plages sauvages, certaines étant les plus belles du monde...

Voilà tout, j'ai arrêté ensuite de prendre des photos, car je devais préparer mon arriver, et le reste est moins beau à prendre à photo..
That is it, I had to stop after that, because I had to prepare my arrival, and the meteo was not that great..

Désolé encore pour la qualité de certaines photos, avec ce voile bleu, mais je tenais quand même à partager, cette expérience unique que j'ai la chance de vivre ici, et de survoler pour moi l'un des pays les plus beaux du monde, et l'un des plus préservé aussi... J'aurais pas mal de photos en vol encore à vous montrer dans les prochaines semaines.
Apologies again the quality of some of the photos, with that kind of "blue color", but I really wanted to share this unique experience with you. I fell so lucky to live my dream, and fly over one the most country in the world!
